Three Objects I Absolutely Love

Three Objects I Absolutely Love

Daily writing prompt
What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

There are a lot of things that can be presented as objects. So firstly I had to narrow down the definition of object. Via Oxford Languages, the definition of object states: a material thing that can be seen and touched. This simple definition opens up a world of possibilities, as objects can range from the mundane to the extraordinary. With that being said, I narrowed it down to a very slim margin. This was tough but ultimately enlightening, as it required me to reflect on what objects truly mean to me personally.

What are my objects?

The first object is very strange to me, but is very legitimate: Red Bull. These drinks have been around for years, but lately, I find myself drinking one or maybe two daily. The crazy part is I started drinking these by mistake. Initially, it was just a casual choice made during a late-night work session, but it quickly turned into a habit. The vibrant can not only symbolizes energy and alertness but also serves as a reminder of those long nights spent working diligently on projects. Red Bull has a unique place in my routine, often serving as a small ritual that kick-starts my productivity.

My Studio

Next on my list is my studio. I am in there every day for hours. It’s a big part of my life. This space is not just about the physical environment; it represents my creative sanctuary where ideas come alive. Whether it be making beats, mixing, mastering, content creation, and more, the studio is a hub for expression. I can escape feelings and emotions from the day here as well, allowing for a therapeutic release through my work. Almost a mancave in a way, it is furnished with objects that inspire me, from vibrant posters to instruments that carry stories of their own. The atmosphere is infused with creativity and passion, a testament to the time and energy I invest.

My Microphone

The last object is my microphone. This is that piece to the puzzle where you can be you without judgment. The mic doesn’t talk back; it just listens. I love that part. Over the years, I have learned that one thing is for sure: I have to keep a microphone within reach. It’s weird but it’s a lifestyle. This object has become an extension of myself, an instrument for sharing thoughts, emotions, and ideas with the world. Whether recording a podcast, laying down a vocal track, or engaging in spontaneous creative outbursts, the microphone stands as a symbol of my voice being heard. It captures my silence and my sound, allowing for a channel of communication that is both personal and profound.

After All

In closing, we all share objects in a very similar way. Some may be stranger than others in some small way, but the end result is satisfaction. The objects that surround us reflect our lives, interests, and identities, creating a tapestry that is uniquely ours. In recognizing the importance of these objects—whether it’s the energy of a drink, the creativity of a studio, or the voice captured by a microphone—we begin to appreciate the deeper connections we have to the material world. Each item tells a story, and together they contribute to the narrative of our lives.
